The Fondation Nicolas Hulot for man and nature, in association with the Fondation de France, opened on May 21, 2004, the first school of biodiversity in the Morbihan within 35 hectares Park Branfere. She wants to "allow everyone to become a responsible citizen and actor of his environment, fully aware that the future of humanity is conditional on respect for biodiversity."
Nicolas Hulot Foundation for Nature and Man wanted to create a centre of environmental education and the Fondation de France wanted to strengthen the education axis Park Branféré where it already hosted summer camps and recreation. In 1995, the draft of a school of biodiversity is acquired and the two foundations created for this purpose, the association Ecole Nicolas Hulot.
The school located in the heart of Brittany South near the Gulf of Morbihan, the Valley of Villaine, Marais of the Great Brière and Lower Valley of Oust is located in the botanical park and wildlife where Branféré 2000 animals representing over 150 species worldwide. It is therefore an exceptional learning ground.
THE PARADISE OF ANIMALS
Legend has it that Casimir Jourde has acquired the Castle Branféré in 1884, winning a poker game. His small-son Paul and his wife Helena painter-animal-to inherit in 30 years. Boasting the world, they discover the game reserve of a maharajah in the wake of a trip to India and decide to make Branféré "Paradise Pets." It also hosts many school groups as part of an educational project developed with the teacher that groups outside the school setting. The school Nicolas Hulot is not a "simple" summer camp "here, no collar noodles" as like to repeat the hosts but different activities. Buildings HQE and meals bio
